ABOUT
Manu Boyer grew up in the south of France and studied physics at the University of Paris. He also played volleyball professionally before transitioning to a career in film, attending film school to hone his craft.
After film school, Manu worked as a freelance cameraman in Paris for numerous production companies and television networks, primarily in the documentary field as a journalist cameraman—including work with Canal+ on several of their top-tier, high-end programs.
He later moved to New York City, where he continued working in various roles across the film and television industry, gradually shifting his focus toward scripted projects—beginning with attending Writers Boot Camp, a rigorous screenwriting program.
During his time in New York, he also pursued fine art photography, with several of his exhibitions showcased across the city.
Manu went on to write and direct three short films, including the award-winning EXPRESS, which screened at several prestigious international film festivals.
After relocating to Los Angeles, he directed the feature documentary I Trust You to Kill Me, which follows Kiefer Sutherland as he takes the rock band Rocco DeLuca and the Burden on their first European tour. The film was selected for multiple film festivals and received a theatrical release.
He later wrote and directed the independent feature To Whom It May Concern, starring Dawn Olivieri and Wilmer Valderrama, which has won multiple awards at film festivals around the world.
As a creative executive producer, Manu develops projects from the ground up—starting with source material such as books or news articles, and guiding the process all the way through production to the final mix of the film.
Most recently, he has executive produced and directed several television movies for A&E Studios, Sony Pictures Television, and Lifetime.
